SNL Star Rachel Dratch and Tony Winner Alan Cumming Join 'Hurricane Bianca' Cast

Hurricane Bianca

Hurricane Bianca is a feature-length comedy about a New York teacher who moves to a small town in Texas, gets fired for being gay, and returns disguised as a mean "lady" to get revenge on the people who were nasty to him! It's Tootsie meets Revenge of the Nerds, or Mrs. Doubtfire for the Jackass generation! Topical, touching and really funny, it's one person's journey to find himself while pretending to be someone else.

I've been following the production of the movie, and here is the latest update:

Hello from very sunny Dallas, Texas!  We just finished Day 9 of our film shoot and we have a lot of exciting news to share!  The hilarious Saturday Night Live Alum  Rachel Dratch and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming will be joining our cast, along with RuPaul's Drag Race favorite Shangela!

"When I read the script, I thought it was genuinely funny and the underlying message of acceptance is very timely," says Rachel Dratch.  "Also, anytime I get to hang out with drag queens, I'm there!"

"I am such a huge fan of Bianca and Roy. I think this film will be an amazing way for the world to see and find out more about both of them," adds Alan Cumming.

"I really can't tell you how my character gets his revenge, but give me forty bucks and I'll get you a scratched DVD with behind the scenes footage, which is just me getting into drag," says Roy Haylock, the scathingly funny standup comedian who catapulted from cabaret act to arena superstar last year when his drag persona, Bianca del Rio, won the sixth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race". Since then, he has performed sold out venues all over the country on his hit "Rolodex of Hate" tour.

Variety Magazine recently named Bianca del Rio among their top ten comics to watch in 2015.

Producers plan to premiere "Hurricane Bianca" early next year with a theatrical run. "We want to be sure everyone is able to see this film packed with larger than life personalities," adds producer Ash Christian of Cranium Entertainment from the set of the film.  "I think we're making something really special."
